I have just found out from the 1911 census that my Grandfather
James Waldron used to manage the Crown Inn, Lower Tower Street,
Birmingham.
Can any one please let me know if it is still standing, and can anyone
tell me how I can get a photograph of it.
Hope some can help me please.

Many thanks,
Shirlann.

The pub seems to have gone around 1971. According to the directories James Waldron was not listed in the 1908 or the 1921 editions, but was in those for 1912, 1913 and 1915.

Hi to MIKEJEE and TCWARDPLUMBERS,
Thank you for the information on The Crown Inn, Lower Tower Street.
Can you please tell me in what book you found the information about the years that he was Landlord of the Crown.

Thank you once again for the information. Its appreciated.

Hi Shirlann
The dates were from the kellys directories for those years. Because the year is the year of publication, and it takes time for information to be collected, it is usually taken that the information refers to the year before (1912 directory taken to refer to 1911, etc). If you want a hard copy of the info, go to https://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq38/jeemikejee/Kellys191219131915thecrown.jpg.
I have copied part of the lower tower st entries from Kellys for (from left to right) 1912,1913,1915.

Appreciated.

Slight typo. I have now corrected it in the post but point out that the last date in my post should be 1915 (not 1914)
