My grandmother's family all came from Bishopsgate Street and Tennant Street.
Knowing my lot, they probably kept that pub going!
Is the City Tavern still going in Bishopsgate Street, does anyone know?
 
I used this pub in the early 60s before (blow in the bag) it was a stopping off point have a few pints of cheap beer and then off to the Tower Ballroom to spend the rest of the night.Also had a great party room upstairs.Dek
