my two oldest brothers was in the ist brigade of the aston BB Brigade the person in charge was captain roberts he lived in albert rd aston
next to aston park and there was a big wash shop where people took large budle of washing daily in the forties and fifties the steam used to bellow out side the shop it was stack right out with the local peoples washing my two oldest brothers on and blly and there mates whom lived in our terrace at cromwell terrace on lichfield rd there mates was to brothereswhom lived in the bottom of the terace we grew up with them they was raymond and tery jarratt
along with johnny lloyed ; he was the flag bearear in the front of the proccession there was three lead drummers one i cannot think of his name the other tow was ray and my oldest brothere ron my other brother was the bugler along with ray in the early fifties i think it was when the BBC was on broad street
the boys brigade made a record of th band i think there was another section from some where else whom had to attend with mr roberts
i recall him bringing it home and our dad played it quite often ;on the old rcord plaer he bought it drove us barmy; [ i wonde if any old boy of the 1 st brigade3 as still got the old 78 record to play today ist company was at dyson hall in park street along with the life bouys which i was a member we used to share the hall with
the BB .and the three or should i say we all sang in the choir there at the church wich belong to dyson hall the pther members was my two brotheres ray and terry
and johny along with i think it was a kid called peter thats where we done our choir pratice and then on sundays we had to go t aston parish church to do the singing if we done our practice we got half a crown and we we don the sunday service at ason parish church we got two half acrowns ;making it five bob ;
any way i do not see my oldest brother ron whom is getting on in life he lives in tamworth we have not spoke in twenty years so i cannot tell him of this Ist bb
