My best man ran this pub 1969/70 shame to see it's closed another nail in the coffin of the brewing trade

1970, had my first beer there that year, an older mate brought a pint of mild outside for me to try.

The first week my best man took the Albion over in 69/70 the girlfriend and I had an argument and part of Aston Road North was demolished . Somehow she managed to stray from the pavement and got her slacks full of mud and her shoes . Strong drink these brandy and babychams haha

Yes I remember them very well! They seemed very exotic back in the day !

We used to pop in for a couple or more after Villa games 20-25 years ago, it was also often our first stop as we walked from the ground back into town. Carl Chinn was often holding court in the back lounge. Happy memories, sorry to see it's gone.
