Tannery in Tanyard Lane Amington Road

I think it must have become Amington road.
1913 map shows tannery on Amington Road. On your map (post #2) the road with the tannery on is not named. I suspect Tanyard Lane was a local name for an otherwise unnamed road.

Mike, what is the date of your B'ham Post item as it quotes that the tannery was now closed. I worked in Amington Rd from 1958 and my nose remembers the tannery, but my memory puts it on the other side of the road from that shown on the map but that may have been a storage yard. I don't remember a Tanyard Lane near there. Strangely I moved to Alvechurch in 1970's so knew the Tanyard Lane there.
