Take Me High

Thought it was time the Forum had a thread on the 1973 Film "Take Me High"- mostly filmed in Birmingham. Viewing it today takes you back to the Birmingham of the early 70s - very nostalgic. The film plot itself is pretty awful - just a reason to string together a number of Cliff Richard Songs. Does anyone have any memories of it being made? - Especially of witnessing the parade through the centre of Birmingham that marked the "climax" of the film? Did anyone get a job as an extra on the film and get to taste those "Brumburgers"?

To remind you of the film, here's the very corny trailer for it...

And for those wanting a nostalgic trip around 1970s Brum here is Cliff Richard taking a very complicated route to get from the Council House to Gas Street...

i dont like Cliff Richards but do like Hugh Griffith:D
Great find on the Internet Archive - Even if the description does call Birmingham a "small industrial town".:)
Its a very early film role for Anthony Andrews - Quite a few years before his part in Brideshead Revisited.

Silly me - I'd done a search for "Take Me High" and "Cliff Richard" in the search box but nothing came up on the first page so I figured it had never been featured before - I've just stumbled upon this other posting from back in 2008 - so if a moderator can combine them, please do
