Hi Carolina,
Thank you so much for that. Yes I think it is him as the age matches what I thought he should be compared to my parents who were in their forties at that time. Did you get any other names connected with him such as Ronnie, John, although I think his first name could have been Sydney and but he used his second name as his first instead. Also Millicent or Mary?
Kindest Regards
Karen
Dear Karen
I have found Sydney and Millicent's marriage. The Registration details are:
Registration district: Birmingham
County: Warwickshire
Year of registration: 1933
Quarter of registration: Apr-May-Jun
Spouse's last name Johnson
Volume no: 6D
Page no: 629
Sydney J Vernon's birth is:
Name: VERNON, Sydney J
Registration district:Birmingham
County: Warwickshire
Year of registration: 1934
Quarter of registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
Mother's maiden name: Johnson
Volume no:6D
Page no:363
Ronnie's birth is:
Name: VERNON, Ronald
Registration district: Birmingham
County: Warwickshire
Year of registration: 1948
Quarter of registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
Mother's maiden name: Johnson
Volume no: 9C
Page no:519
I can't immediately find any birth for a daughter but do you have a name for that daughter? The Vernon surname returns too many hits to be accurate, so the more information that you have about this possible daughter the better.
Millicent's death looks like it is:
Name: VERNON, Millicent Gertrude
Registration district: Lichfield
County: Staffordshire
Year of registration: 1996
Month of registration: December
Date of Birth:10 August 1910
District no: 7322
Reg no: 34D
Ent no: 133
DOR: 1296
You can go to the Registry Office in Birmingham to get all the certificates for the Birmingham ones but you would have to go to Lichfield for the death of Millicent. Alternatively, you can order them on line. In either case, it costs!
