Lindy, the map looks great, like Lyn, I am a technophobe, so think you are brave to try and I think Mike would be bald if he had to teach me lol.
Found this very interesting historynut.

Nechells Great Francis St- Claverdon St The Railway Inn.jpg Evening lyn and doug

Lyn i have found thomas edgar on the memorial its nice to have the memorial its a shame it is were it is and not in a churchyard in a more prominent position but at least it is something.

Doug once again i thank you for all your help it looks like claverdon street was gobbled up by the redevelopment that was carried out in the 50s/60s looking at lindyloos map it would have started were the rocket pub was built.
the photo shows claverdon street/bloomsbury street (one of lyns i think)

Hi Lyn,
That is very kind of you. I will do my best to improve it. At the moment this is my list of priorities:
1. Huge pilot on teaching dementia in schools. We are it for the West Midlands.
2. Brandwood End Data Base - We are on to 1911 after a years work
3. Oral history website - I am so proud of this because of all the lovely people I've met
4 Barra 3 - to include where the bombs dropped

It will keep me busy!
Best wishes,
Doug

Hi Phil,
The BARRA site was one of these things I just fell into. I have a habit, and always have had, of not saying no. Often it means loads of hard work, fun whilst doing it, and then pass on. The Barra site was one of these moments. They wanted a school to help them create the data base and I said 'we'd do it'. Barra 1 - was all the people killed by the air raids, which is bigger than the memorial because more people were found afterwards. Barra 2 was me and four pupils and we added all those injured to the site. This led me into organising the 70th anniversary of the Birmingham Blitz at the Council House on November 19th 2010. Barra 3 is a slow starter. It's just me and one pupil because I am caught up with this dementia project and the Brandwood End data base. It is all brilliant history and great fun to do.
Best wishes,
Doug

I found my Great great grandmothers name on the Brandwood End Cemetery Sarah Ann Bartlett (nee Notley) I had already discovered that she was buried in the unmarked grave area there. My Great grandfather Alfred Bartlett her son died 25th Aug 1913 is also buried in these unmarked graves and my Aunt Edith Bartlett who died 21st Jan 1922 aged 2 -3 years. I visited the area and as it shows the graves are unmarked. Who would add the names of Alfred and Edith to this archive?

Hi Fergie,
I have added on Alfred for you. I can't do Edith yet until I know more details about her. I assume that the family were still living at 225 Brunswick Road when he died? I have added Sarah Anne's maiden name to her record. Do you know anything else about them and I will add that to the record? It's a slow process at the moment and we are up to 1911 but we are getting there!
Best wishes,
Doug

Hi Doug

I never thought to give you all the information here goes

Alfred Bartlett was living at 2/287 Highgate Road Sparkbrook Birmingham but he died in the Workhouse Infirmary Selly Oak Birmingham of cancer of the tonsils.

When

When Edith Bartlett died in 1922 the family were living at 247 Highgate Road Sparkbrook Birmingham

Hi Fergie,
Thank you for the information. I have now added Alfred's age, 50, and his place of death etc. Who were Edith's parents? How we are doing this is that I have photographed and printed out all the first four volumes which takes it up until 1912 when the cemetery moved from Worcestershire to Birmingham. I have photographed the next volume but when I printed it out you can hardly read it and so I will need to do that again. When we are back at school I have a small team who are inputting the data, which is a slow process as we do it on a dinnertime when sandwiches and chatting get's in the way. When I have on odd hour I am adding the data. What I want is for people who are connected to the names to give me detail so that they become people again and not just names.
Best wishes,
Doug
