I can't say where exactly these were located except that, according to the postcards, they're of the Erdington section of Sutton Road. Viv.

Here's another one of Sutton Road, Erdington from my wife's family collection. No date. Early 1900s? Any one know?

The photo in post 1 looks like a Birmingham tram but painted in the livery of Glasgow Corporation. 
I would suggest shortly before WW1, but I haven't been able to find a date for it, as yet.

This image is a scan of a photocopy of a photo taken I believe late 50's/early 60's. I think it was probably done around the time that development was taking place at the Lyndhurst Estate as there are several taken of the original houses on that land which are similar. I' sure one of our vehicle buffs will be able to give a closer date by the make of cars pictured.
The border between Erdington and Sutton was about where the car is in the middle of the road coming towards the camera.
There are two cars parked in the car park of the Yenton pub and behind that is a block of shops. These shops replaced several earlier cottages and the block stands on the corner of Sutton Road (might be Birmingham Road - it gets a bit confused here) and Douay Road. I'd really love to know what the shops were, particularly the one on the corner. May be a chemists? It was a bookies for a long time and has now been replaced by a cafe. We went the other day and I can recommend it. Best cuppa for ages and their cinnamon and apple rolls are addictive.
Any help anyone can give me would be really welcome please.

Thank you Pedro. Brilliant. I thought it looked like a chemists and this gives a really good picture of what there was in that block. Mom had a tweed suit from 'Laurette' before I was born so thinking of the photo it must have been much like this at that time.
Just noticed the buildings between Chester Road and the Yenton. I didn't know about these.

Lady P, I would date the photo as late - 40's early 50', say 1948 - 1953, The tram tracks are still there as is the overhead wiring.

This one is labelled as Sutton Road Chester Road crossing, c1936. If that's correct, the pavement/reservations must have later been levelled. I think it might be the same position as in Mike's post #16 - house is still there.

And another of Sutton Road, Erdington. There's something very odd about this colourised view. Have the tram and the figures alongside been added ?
Sutton Road Erdington, possibly the same section of road as in the second photo in post #2. Hard to tell where exactly, be good to have a more precise location. Any ideas ?
The garden walls also look like Gravely Hill too
