Had a chicken off the bone Madras. My eyebrows are still sweating.Late 60's early 70's flock wallpapered Indian Restaurant in Sutton Coldfield . Anyone remember this place where I had my first Prawn Curry!
Great Thanks for that Yes think that could be where a lovely boyfriend took me not long after I moved to the area to start a new job and where I had that first proper curry !.The Dilshad. Just off the Parade
I used to go their with my friend after we got our Saturday job wages from Gills toy shop in 1966/7.The Dilshad. Just off the Parade
I think I have got my memories mixed up. The Dilshad was where I went for meals nearer to where I lived in Jockey road. The Indian restaurant we went for lunch when I worked at Gills was nearer to the Parade. Does anyone know the name of that one?The Dilshad was trading from at least 1979.

Grateful for the replies to my request, helping me confirm that my memory isn't as bad as I sometimes think! Loved the years I spent in and around Sutton Coldfield, and the Birmingham area in general and visit at least once every year catching up with friends and re-visiting those favourite haunts that still exist Thank youI used to work at R H Eames on the parade, we used to go for lunch at the Dilshad for lunch occasionally this would have been the late 1960s early 70s
I can’t remember the road the Dilshad was on but definitely of the Parade ( a long time ago now) but pretty sure this was the first restaurant and probably then relocated.
