The firm was at the above address from the mid 1840s till the 1920s, when it moved to New Spring St. The warehouse was on the corner of Slaney St (see map in red).

Before that, as Samuel Sutton & Son it is listed at Snow hill in the 1841 Pigot's directory, presumably at the same site, though no exact address is given. Previous to that Samuel Sutton's firm had been at 119 Great Charles St and 20 Livery St. Here are adverts for the firm in Kellys from 1879 and 1910 and a typical invoice (mills archive /https://catalogue.millsarchive.org/informationobject/browse?topLod=0&sort=relevance&query=birmingham )

On the net (https://www.google.co.uk/books/edit...nbJjAAAAcAAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&printsec=frontcover) are the full (77pp) report of a trial in 1850 in which the firm claimed to have been libelled. They won and were awarded £500
