Saw this supermarket featured in a Birmingham Mail short film. Do you remember it? I think it was on the bridge near Woolworth's. Think it might have been Fine Fare as the film also shows a Fine Fare lorry delivering into the building.

This is where I think the supermarket must have been (red dot). They certainly didn't use the opportunity to advertise their prescence as you wouldn't have known it was there unless you used that footbridge. Viv

I'm not very sure Viv, but have vague memories of Finefare being at the end of the subway from New St, just before the ramp down to the outside market area

hi mike
yes thats correct after coming down the ramp and start walking towards the st martins church
you come down the ramp emediatly there is an exit walk way which would have taken you towards the news street station
emediate on yiur first right hand as you got the bottom of the ramp
as you saywalk towards the church and the spiral ramp up to the indoor market
once you past the exit i have said its that emediate large white building you come to
that was fine fairs once you passed that front doors of fine fairs
there was a couple of shops that laid back and it went under the spiral ramp
one was a camping equipments the other was a pet shop, which was owned by the guy down winson green road
at the moment i have got a mental block on the blokes name
i have in the past done a thread on him before some one will tell us before i can think of it
as i said fime fair moved up from the large store from newtown row
i lived in inkeram house which over towered them we lived on top floor when i first got married
a year or two after they built the block best wishes, Alan,,,,,Astonian,,
