ChiI remember the Warwick family granny stokes lived one side my cousin Maureen lived the other side we were both friend's of Annie Warwick there daughter
Lived in studly Street and knew lenny and Rita lived there till about 1966 they were nice people always good for a laughHi Peaky,
I had several friends that lived in Studley St, Queen St and Alfred St that I went to school with at Dennis Rd. I used to drink in the Gate when Jack Blower was the gaffer before he bought the Fish at Offenham. I can't say that I knew your relations but I have no doubt that my mate Alf would have known them.
Hi Peaky, just going through my family history material and have come across your uncle's name. Lenny Preston was my dad's (Walter Perkins) best man at his wedding to my mom (Beryl Perkins). He witnessed the marriage on certificate. The lad in the photograph at the bottom of the children playing in the street (Studley Street) is Lenny Preston who married Rita Preston (nee View attachment 89604 Hayward from Mole Street) and lived in the same street after their wedding. Lenny is my uncle and his father lived in the yard down from him where he kept his pigeons. At the end of Studley Street (Ladypool Road end) there used to be a vegetable cart just down from the Gate public house which was my uncle's local. He would take us in the gardens at the back...Sadly the gardens are now a factory or some sort of building slapped on top.
