Good morning everyone.

I am researching an ancestor who had been living with her parents on Benacre Street (or Road) in 1881 and likely Braithwaithe Road in 1901, she was working as a domestic assistant at the address in the above photo but I cannot work out the address, any help would be much appreciated. x

hi and welcome...i am pretty certain its railway terrace kyrwicks lane..which is in the highgate/sparkbrook area ..there is also a railway station there hence the railway terrace bit of the address also i dont think there was a benacre road so it must be benacre st but if you could give us your ancestors name and year of birth we could check for you..hope this helps

Correct Lyn.
Right at the bottom of this map. 6 is marked and it is easy enough to work out which was 10.
1950 map (for the numbers).

Also just on this 1887 map

Hi Lyn, thanks so much. The ancestor was Sarah Ann Robinson (nee Nicholls) and her year of birth was 1852, the record was the 1901 Census Aston, Deritend, District 047

just checked the 1881 and its definately benacre st..1901 shes a widow at railway terrace kyrwicks lane..i take it you know she died 3rd june 1927 and i think she is buried at brandwood end ...in your first post you mentioned braithwaite road...where does that come into it ?

Hi Lyn.

Well I was researching her daughter Rachel who was employed by Arthur Peake in 1901 on Braithwaite Road, Birmingham and I assumed it was likely, Rachel being unmarried still lived with her mom and siblings on Kyrwicks Lane.

I also did not know her death date (as I haven't researched her as such yet) but I appreciate that info, thankyou so much!! x

cant see where it says rachel was employed by arthur peake on the 1901..1901 census does put rachel at 17 braithwaite road living with arthur and alice (think its pauli but the writing is awful) but shes i down as a domestic servant..

Yes, i believe she was there with her employers Arthur and Alice Peake on the day the census was recording, though it's my belief she was not living there :) thanks again
