Stockland House, Slade Road

The house was built c1840 and was approached along a drive off Slade Road. It was roughly opposite Stockland Green Methodist Church. There is still a green area beside Highcroft Community Centre which presumably was part of the estate. It was still standing in 1913 (see map below). Does anyone know when the House was demolished ? I knew one of the doctors who worked at Highcroft Hospital, he lived in that house. I am quite sure it was there in the early 70’s.

This modern Streetview is taken from Northcroft and shows the (low level building) Highcroft Community Centre to the left. The white houses (Centre) are on Slade Road, and the entrance/driveway to Stockland House would have been beside those houses (probably the present day entrance to the Community Centre).

So Stockland House was somewhere in this view. My guess is probably the area where the Community Centre/green area is today. Given its proximity to Highcroft Hospital, I wonder if the House became part of the Highcroft Hospital estate at some point ? Viv.
