Stirchley manufacturing history

Hi, does anyone have any information on the manufacturing history of Stirchley?

There used to be a brush works in Fordhouse Lane, C. Lengs, would have been 1950ish. Later became Wilmot Breeden who made car door locks.

Oh wow interesting do you have any pictures or know where I could find some? I’m doing a project on Stirchley so it would be really helpful.

I haven't any pictures of these factories but this is near by. The junction of Pershore Rd and Fordhouse Lane, perhaps about 1940's? If you look on line at The Grace guide of British Industry you may find things of interest. My knowledge comes only from the fact that in 1960's I worked at Wilmot Breeden and the site was locally referred to as "the brush works". Good luck with your project! Does Cadbury's count as Stirchley?

Hi there new to this site
Can anyone help me i am looking for information on an old building that use to be in stirchley pershore road .
I t was originally a industrial laundry and was demolished in the late sixties ,they then built a ware house on the site called laxstons an know bookers .the entrance to the industrial laundry used to be down bewedely road know it is down ten acres road opposite the dog pool i used to live on the pershore road by Birmingham motorcycles / scrap yard any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, does anyone have any information on the manufacturing history of Stirchley?

Hunts foundry between lifford lane and Fordhouse lane , G K N. opposite them on other side of Pershore rd. Showells Ltd. further down but up a side street, I think they made door handles and fittings.
