In 1920, there is a William Stevens at 1 Cromwell Square
1922-1930 at the same address,William Stevens and Elizabeth Stevens.
I can't see either of them again for definate until 1945 and 1950 where there is an Elizabeth Stevens, listed alone at 4 back 32 Whitehouse Street.

Re: william stevens born 26 dec 1922

Hi astonian Alan
Stars here. I have done a bit of searching for you and came up with the following. William A Stevens Mother's Maiden Surname: Young Date of Registration:Oct-Nov-Dec 1922 Registration district:Birmingham Inferred County:Warwickshire Volume Number:6d

I see that his mothers maiden name is Young, it looks like the one. And i think this may be the death index for him. Name:William Albert Stevens Birth Date:21 Sep 1922 Date of Registration:Oct 1985 Age at Death:63 Registration district:BirminghamInferred County:Warwickshire Volume:32

I hope this has helped you, take care Stars (Eric)

Re: william stevens born 26 dec 1922

Alan are you sure about your fathers birth.
William Stevens married Elizabeth Jennings in 1911 Birmingham they had a son William Stevens in 1915 and there is a death of a William Stevens in Birmingham 1958 but his birthdate is 1915.

Re: william stevens born 26 dec 1922

I Knew a William. A. Stevens from Highgate Rd Sparkbrook he had a second hand shop and was a painter & decorator. The date of birth and death sounds about right, I don't know if there was any connection. He was known locally as Bill the Whitewash.

Hi Astonian
The numbers I gave you are for the entries in the register. If you go along to the office and give them the names, date of burial and register number they will probably be able to point you to the correct section. I know the lady in the office last week was very helpful when I went:)
