steel house lane

hi there alf ,
very nice pics you put on for us
they are very modern compared to the old ,oldie ones
would,nt there be any older ones in the archives
At central libary we could get hold of
i think it was around the year of 1953,to 55 ,
when they started to demolish the wordly old shops
and premises on steel house lane if mymemory serves me right
they was very small units of shops ,with very little tiny windows
And doors ,they must have been very small people whom
ran them they was little work shops ,
not like todays work shops
there was alot of small gun smiths oppersite the nick
and it was reported in 1950-51-52 or may be 53
that on a saturday night there was a couple of police officiers
on duty at night broke into one of the guns smiths
in the early hours of sunday morning
But they was seen and caught
but getting back to the subject of the premises
surely sombody from the council would have some pics
of these quaint shops that carry history of our dear old brum
surely there mustbe some in the archives on the 6 floor
thanks alf have a nice day astonian ;;;
