Hi

Marriage look up for 22 november 1841 please.

William Henry Lisemore (or alternative spelling) and
Priscilla Bindley.

Especially interested in their ages - they both appear to be very young.

Thank you in advance.

They are both on a private family tree on Ancestry.co.uk, which I cannot access, but their birth dates are both given as 1824

Here they are wrongly transcribed as Lipsmore in 1861 at 4 back of 112 (although it's down as 112 back of 4, obviously wrong!) Barr St.

Wendy, and everyone else, thank you for your help.

IGI has Priscilla Bindley born 17 December 1825 - which makes her not quite 16 at the time of her marriage to William. William was born in 1824 so he was just 16.

Lisemore is a wonderful name for mistranscriptions - and I seem to have a lot of those in my tree.

The Nuneaton Lisemores aren't in the direct line, but all the Lisemores seem to be connected somewhere back in the past. The Bindley family were in Aston St George in 1841 - I obviously couldn't read the address properly.

The owner of the private tree doesn't have this information either, in fact she alerted me to the possible under age of Priscilla. Thanks again.

Re "underage" marriage. I only found this out this week much to my surprise.

1929 legal age for marriage increased from 14 males and 12 females to 16 for both (parental consent still required up to age 21.

This information was obtained on a Family History Fact Sheet isssued by Birmingham City Council, Register Office.

emma the igi record you refer to (17.12.1825) has father thomas mother ann.

there is also a priscilla bindley with father william and mother elizabeth christened on 12 2 1824 in nuneaton warwick which corresponds to brens census but may be the wrong one as the marr cert said father thomas

chris

I believe her parents to have been Thomas Bindley (or Brindley) and Ann Blanton. They were living in St Georges ASton in 1841. Priscilla was baptised in 1828 at St Philips.
