Hello All,

This is my first post to your forum, so forgive me if I mess it up.

I am hoping that SKS might be able to do a look up of burial records for St Martin's between 1841 and 1851.

I have a James HARRIS born 30 John Street St Mary's on 1 May 1841, baptised at St Martin's on 19 May 1841, son of Charles "confectioner" and Mary FARRELL.

James shows up with his family in the 1841 Census but is missing by 1851, so I am assuming he has died. This is an elusive family there are reportedly 10 children of the marriage but I can only identify two (Rosetta and James).

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Cheers
Leanne

welcome leanne

ive found the burial record at st. martins

james son of charles and mary harris of john street. buried 14th july 1841 aged 10 wks.

also the christening you mentioned james son of charles and mary harris baptised 19th may 1841 born 1 may 1841. john street. but fathers occ was blacksmith

Thank you Shera!
You have done better than the researcher I hired! She didn't locate that burial entry:)
But I must say I am confused.
The birth record is the correct one (I have the birth certificate which gives Charles occupation as confectioner and correct mother Mary FARRELL), so its interesting that he is given as blacksmith in the register. But obviously that's his death so thanks that's one child accounted for...8 to go!
Thanks again, Leanne

But it must be his death correct the dates match up.

heres a couple more i found at st. martins

joseph son of charles and mary harris born 6th feb 1832 chr. 27th feb 1832 abode. milk street. occ. hatter

charles son of charles and mary harris born 25th july 1834 chr. 11th aug 1834 milk street. hatter

Thanks Shera,
It might be worth getting one of those certificates just to see if Charles the hatter is the same as Charles the confectioner and Charles the blacksmith! Thanks again I really appreciate it.
Leanne
