St Laurence School

Hi,
I hope I have worked out how to do this, but no doubt a moderator will sort it out if I have got it wrong.
I am looking to see if there is anyone who attended St Laurence's infant or Junior Schools before 1957. I stumbled across their website which seems to indicate that in my dotage I have discovered 7 years I seem to have missed. I recall quite clearly moving to a new classroom in Bunbury Road just before I left having passed my 11 plus a year early. That cannot have been any later than July 1957, yet the school website says the move did not take place until 1964 which was long after I had completed my GCE exams and was in full time work.
Is there any one out there that remembers what went on? Or have I dreamed everything?

Just stumbled across this a bit late... but the dates in your memory seem a bit off! Mine are, too, but luckily there's a St. Laurence FB group that has a lot more lucid members.

I have strong memories of my time there, but I have never tried to match them to an exact time-line; started '59ish, Mrs Kimberley/ Ellis in the 2 rooms immediately up the steps from the entrance oppositethe church steps, then diagonally across the playground to Mrs Grey, then Mrs Jones in pre-fab like rooms near the air raid shelters, then Mrs Williamson at the top of the main block and Mr Eastwood at the end nearest the top of Church Hill. During this year, we were in the first move to Bunbury Rd. (had to take a pair of "indoor shoes" to change into for the 1st year there), then Mr Spellar and Mrs Cheetham and 11 plus. The move was about '63/'64 and I started at KN in '66. By this your July '77 date must be out by at least 6 years. I might just dig into my own chronology some more - thousands of vivid memories from then, but difficult to to timeline it. Memory does wierd stuff, though - Donald Campbell's Coniston crash was in my 2nd term at KN, and I remeber associating that with my 1st form days - but Aberfan was in my first term at KN, but I used to associate with my time in Mr Eastwood's class.
