St George's Six Ways

In the 1911 Census it states that my grandfather and two of his brothers were working in pubs. I can't find any information on the St Way or St George. Does anybody have an idea about were these pubs were etc ? The family were living in Aston...

Have you any street details?
There is a St George Church, Hockley and a George tavern, Aston - never heard of St Way!

Just looked at the original 1911 census form - not the transcription that I had printed off (which I really should have done before). I read it as being St George, Six Ways. It was just that Six Ways was on the line below. Their address reads Wilton Road - but could it be Witton Road? The census form was (unusually ?) filled in by the visitor to the house that day - not any of the Onions family.

Thank you Bernard - it does need changing.

I was daft enough not to look closely at the original census form, rather than the transcription. And the Wilton Road could well be Witton Road with just one 't' crossed through.
 
Hi Scribbler, Looks like Witton Road, Six Ways in St Georges Parish?
Wilton Road would be Perry Barr, Erdington, or Small heath.
If you look at the previous or next Census entry you will find their neighbour, which will also help confirm address.
Plenty of pubs around for them to have worked in, around Witton!

Not daft at all it is an error easily made on handwritten documents or those poorly transcribed from such.
 
The address is definitely Wilton Street.

Apologies for getting things so wrong when reading this particular census entry.

The trouble with the 1911 census on the genealogist site is that you (or at least I) can't flip to the next page.

Now all I need/want is a photo of the pub. My grandfather obviously enjoyed his time there as he went on to be a publican after WW1 ended.
 
Wilton Street ran from 146 Gt. King Street to Carlyle Road, B19. so definitely St. George's and quite a fair way from Six Ways, Aston. Hope this is of some help.
 
Wilton Street crosses Lozells road - it's the next St along from Wheeler St, just beyond St Pauls Church, so only a stones throw from 6 Ways, Aston.
I thought the other end of joined up with the end of farm St? Certainly the top end after crossing Lozells Road become Leonard St
