Your map in post #3 enlarges brilliantly once you've saved it Lyn. Thanks. Viv.

Re: st georges place..

But Lyn, there aren't any pubs marked on the map!! anyway, I like the map because it's not too fussy or cluttered. And it has a nice girlie pink background. Viv

Re: st georges place..

lol viv i dont need a map to find the pubs..can smell them a mile away....so pleased you find the map of interest i think it may have been mikejee who sent that to me about 3 years back....its a 1940s one i think...

Re: st georges place..

It wasn't me who gave it to you Lyn. It looks very like the Bartholemew maps which are in the recent reprint from mapseeker (https://www.mapseeker.co.uk/books/ and then go to historical books) , though have seen it on th eforum before the reprint, so if it is from there yours would be from the original. These are dated at 1924. Don't have a copy though, so can't say if they are the same

Regarding your first post I have marked on modified map in colour. Blue line is area covered by picture 1, and buildings are marked on photo and map in same colour (I think, hope Moss agrees with me)

Re: st georges place..

Hi TOPSYTURVEY! I believe the above photo of the outing has my grandfather in it. He is the one standing under the "W" of Wimbush - the sixth face from the left. Do you know the occasion of the outing? Regards. willey
