Another great afternoon, it was good to meet everyone again.
I'm sorry I couldn't get around to meet you all, but as you probably noticed my grandaugter wanted my undivided.
Looking forward to the next one.

That would be great, Lyn. Mike Ingram posted a pic of A Paddle in Hockley Brook some years ago and it showed a bit of George Baines but I lost that ages ago when my computer crashed and I think that was the only picture I ever had of Baines'.

Yes we were on the very corner of Farm Street and Hunters Road, our address was 2 Hunters Road. We lived above Baines the bakers, it was quite a tall building because Baines was on the ground and we had the cellars, ground floor, 1st floor and attics, as I remember. On the ground floor, there was a wall which partitioned Baines off from us and we had the rest of the house. The Turks Head pub and the Benyon pub were very close to us, one of which was directly across the road but I can't remember which.

I bet this post will have to go somewhere else now, won't it? If it does, let me know where, won't you!

Thanks, Lyn.

Chris

ok chris ive got me bearings now...actually i think you must have lived close to another member barrie..if i remember rightly his house was actually in hunters road but very near to farm st..he said there was a pub next to the entry that led to his house...im still searching for a pic for him too...hope to get back to you soon..

Nice to see the pictures Lyn. Looks as though you all had a bloomin' good time (as per).
Shame I couldn't be there, sadly I was somewhere dry, hot and sunny...such as shame.
