St Chad's Cathedral War memorial

There are 151 names of men lost during WW1 listed in the book of remembrance at the Cathedral ( Roman Catholic Cathedral ) - the copy on display is a typed document and I have been trying to update the details of the men listed using online databases - would be interested if anyone has any family history & photographs to share.

Every year the names of the men are remembered on individual poppies on a display in one of our crypt chapels - we regularly welcome school children and teachers at the Cathedral and we invite the to pray with us and remember those men in the parish who fought and lost their lives. We also have the main war memorial in the Cathedral.

We are also very fortunate to have letters to and from some of the men in our archives which have been copied and bound in a book.

If anyone wants me to check a name on my research spreadsheet drop me a message

thanks Bev

Interesting photographs. I never got to see the Cathedral before it was re-ordered. I am more familiar with the Plymouth Diocese having been in Devon for quite a while, in fact 70 years.
