I went to school with a Valerie Gardner - Tilton Girls - I bet she's the same one mentioned in the previous post; dates & location would be right - any relation of yours ?
you can apply for the marriage certificate from birmingham register office. they did let you apply online but at the moment you cant, but if you go to their website there is a form you can download and print out filling in the details and references i gave you in the earlier post. you should have the certificate within 2 or 3 days and it costs £7.
this will tell you where they married and fathers names plus occupations etc.
