Where was the Health and Safety Executive when you needed them?

Was it not in Small Heath,I went to the scout group there(131st St Andrews) andgrew up around the corner from it.Our adress was always Small Heath.Wonder if this was the vicar at your grandads wedding.
And wonder if these are the 'volounteer steeplejacks' Bt the way, it Bordesley, not Bordesley Green. The steeple was removed around 1901 I believe, certainly wasnt there when I was growing up.
I agree with you keegs, it would have been known as Small Heath, I was in that scout troop back in the late forties, the neckerchief was blue with a white border, in my memory is working OK.
