Hi Everyone

Does anyone have any information/data on the events leading up to the sinking of the RMS Lancastria or the numbers of survivors, or indeed are there any survivors out there?
'I would be very intersested as my father was a survivor of this vessel and was mentioned in the book 'Lancastria' by Geoffrey Bond

Thanks for that Oisin. Wikipedia almost takes the government line with the number of casualties.. The Lancastria website and other survivors put the loss at between 7 and 9 thousand, perhaps we will never know. Do you know if there are any brummie survivors?

There was a Daily Express newspaper account of the Sinking of the Lancastria on Aug 9th 1940 with photographs and today March 3rd on the News their is a petition asking the Goverment to make it an official war grave...I have the newspaper but will post if anyone is intrested
