This looks like a pub with historical interest. On the second image it gives an alternative name of "Ye Olde Manor House". Is it still standing by any chance? Viv.

viv if my info is correct demolished 1929 for road widening...there is a wetherspoons close by named the spread eagle

Quote from Michael Byrne's book Acock's Green. "it closed 20/09/1928 the licence went to the Fox Hollies as did the licensee Matthew Bissell. Within a year or so it was demolished for road widening. The site is in the carriage way at the pedestrian lights near Victoria Rd."

Another early view of the Spread Eagle which stood near the junction of Victoria Road and another photo of the same site that appears to be pre war.

Another of the Spread Eagle but this time without vehicles in front. The staff have come out to pass on their season's greetings. That goose had better watch out given the time of year ! Viv.

Delightful picture Vivienne. I doubt those web footed critters would make Christmastide these days - or an day for that matter given present day traffic volume and impatience.

The new Spread Eagle is on the other side of the road.
