Sparkhill - Fulham Road

Ian FOFB

Brummie yes ! Novice no !
The 'then' pictures are taken from old postcards, the 'now' pictures taken from Google Streetview.
The older of the pictures is thought to date from the 1900's.

Ian.

Two more photos with Fulham rd in the back ground, these photos were taken in Leamington rd which is no longer there another road lost to history

There is just a few yeards left of it at the top Ladypool rd end but the rest of it has gone it is a grassed area now.

Did Wilton Road run from Fulham Road right up to Newton Road? ,i can remember Beach Road, seems an eternity since i was a nipper in the area, good old days

ed smith,
I have attached a road map of the area if you look at the middle of the map you will see Wilton road and all the others that we enjoyed playing in and walking around.

I used to have a friend,Tommy King i think that is his name, and his family was one of those who took the offer of going to Aussie ,was the late 50`s i seem to remember,as i said the good old days when children were allowed to have a childhood and find out about life the hard way

ed smith,
We now call it the hard way but it was just growing up to us then we didn't know any different.
