As is my wont, I'm drawn to the cap badges on view here. The be-ribboned bloke on the left is Manchester Regt and him on the right is possibly Northamptons.
I'm also drawn to the man on the right's SD tunic. Either the photo was affected by the photoshop clean up or he has no pockets. I've never seen anything like that before. Has anybody got any thoughts on this ?
My father enlisted in the Royal Warwickshire Regt, but was medically graded C3 (the lowest) and only fit for duty in the UK, so was moved to the Labour Corps for 3 months. However, since they were mainly engaged in heavy work, such as road building, it was too much for him and he was transferred to the Royal Tank Corps at Bovington, Dorset, where he served as camp postman for the remainder of his service.
