Smiths - I know, but it is worth a try!

I am trying to find the maiden name of my great-grandmother and will try a website tomorrow in our local library, but wonder if there are any Smiths out there who may have a connection. My grandmother was born in Duddeston in February 1883, and I have a much-mangled birth certificate to prove this. She was Lily Smith, daughter of Charles and Jane, and in 1901 they were living in Bournbrook with 5 other daughters. Jane was 37 at that time, and was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire, as was Charles. Lily, Nellie and Florence were also noted as born in Birmingham, with the three youngest, Annie, Minnie and Emily noted as born in Bournbrook, Worcestershire. I cannot find any of them - at this point - on the 1891 census and Charles and Jane should be on the 1881 census, but, as I say, I will look tomorrow on the free access site.

So are there any of my relatives out there? I do hope so!
 
And this could be Charles living with his parents (both born Leicester) at 35 Railway Terrace,Duddeston in 1881
 
The same family of Smiths at the same address in 1871.

Crikey, Ladylinda, don't you sleep!? Mind you, I spend the sleepless times of the night planning where to look next for information! Thank you very much for all that information, it has saved me a lot of time. But, if the 1881 census is the one you have copied, the ages of Charles and Emma are too far out. However, Emma is obviously his mother, so that gives me something. Now for Jane!

Don't discount the 1881 family automatically,because ages were sometimes rounded up/down in the early census.
She was down as 75 and a charwoman in 1891. the Emma Smith in 1881 was 62 and a charwoman in 1881. In 1871,living in the same place she was 54!!

there is a fair chance that janes maiden name was haycock.

there is a possible marriage of charles smith to jane haycock in 1883 jan-mar aston 6d 280

also checked on jane haycock in bham in 1881 and there is one born 1864 with father william.
