I'm trying to trace Sitch family living in Aston? Have got various pieces of info but any info would be good.

I went to school with an Ian Sitch. He used to live in St. Saviours Road. I'm still in touch with him. Wonder if he is any connection.

in 1912 albert sitch is at 105 villa st.
in 1918 william walter sitch is on the absent voters list for 105 villa st. T4/243694, Dvr, 5/6 Co. ASC
in 1920 arthur leonard, albert and william walter sitch at 105 villa st.
in 1922 albert thomas and arthur leonard sitch at 105 villa st.
in 1925 albert thomas sitch at 105 villa st.
in 1930 albert thomas sitch at 105 villa st. and ivy sitch at back 122 villa st.
in 1935 albert thomas sitch at 105 villa st.
in 1945 elizabeth sitch at 48 villa st.
in 1950 william b. and elizabeth sitch at 48 villa st.
in 1955 elizabeth sitch at 48 villa st.

sorry if you already have this. there are many sitch`s but just listed the ones in villa st.

Thank you. I'm sorry to keep asking different things but as a starting point I could do with finding out the marriage details of the children in this family and also their dates of death. Would this be easy to do, or would it be a major long trawl?

1860 Sept Qtr Ann Cheatle married William Edwin Sitch. Registered in Kings Norton. Do you have access to the census records? You may be able to trace William and Ann.

Have a look at the web site FreeBMD too.
 
I've only just started looking into the family history, where do I get access to the census records?

It depends how you want to work and how much you want to pay.

Census are held at most large libraries and the Latter Day Saints also hold copies at their family history centres around the countries. To search from home for free you could try https://fsbeta.familysearch.org and https://freeukgen.rootsweb.com

Many people choose to pay for access with one of the big subscription sites such as Ancestry, Findmypast, Genesreunited and many others

Hi Nicola, you'll most likely find that Ancestry.co.uk, and Findmypast have a 14 day free trial so you can get started without paying.
If you organise yourself first with all the information you've already got to hand, it's amazing how far you can get in 14 days. I don't think the 1911 census is included in the free trial though - in fact it's not yet on Ancestry.
I started on Ancestry's free trial - then at the end of the 14 days, my sister and I clubbed together for a year's subscription and have done so ever since.
Through that site we've made contact with other distant family members and we've pooled information and photos. You can choose whether or not to make your tree public on Ancestry, but it helps when people do make them public, because when your relative pops up on another tree you can glean information from someone else.
Don't order BMD certificates through them though. It's cheaper to do it direct if you can get the information first.

Thanks for your messages, Suemalings - thank you so much for your message, its given me more af a starting point.

At the moment I'm tracing back to my grandmothers father, albert thomas sitch and his family. He has a sister Sarah Sitch and i've found a person by this name who married in 1896. Would anyone be able to have a look and see who she married and if it is her. Her parents were James and Emma Sitch.

If you search on FreeBMD you will find a Sarah Sitch married EITHER Samuel Smith or James Thomas Gindney.

By looking at the 1901 census you should be able to see which one it was.
