Hi Folks

Has anyone access to the Electoral Register? I'd appreciate a look-up for the above lady who I believe lived in Bridge Street West, John Street West or thereabouts. She was a widow and I think she lived alone at that point in time.

Thanks.

There is only one entry for Zena Simpkin -
At 56 Monument Road, Ladywood in 1920:
Simpkin, Frederick: Simpkin, Zena Alice: and Simpkin, Frederick William.

No results for Rosina Simpkin.

Hi Lloyd

Well, the information you've given me is more than I had, anyway, so thanks for that. I didn't know there was a son (presumably) also called Frederick, either. Much appreciated.

:)

Hi Ladylinda

Yes, that's the right family, I can't believe I'm finding out so much about them now after all these years! Thank you so much.

:)

Found them for you in 1881! She is using the name Zena this year!!
No children, but they have a lodger,James Taylor, relationship to head of household-Brother-in-law.(could he be Zena's brother? or maybe married to Frederick's sister)
Address 1 Barrs Buildings,Johnstone Street,Birmingham

Here's the marriage for Frederick and Zena. She was a Taylor!!

Can't thank you enough, Ladylinda. I had got the marriage but nothing else. Can you read the address on on the 1881 Census doc; I can't quite make it out? Is it Farr Place or Bldgs?

Thanks again anyway, much appreciated.

Crikey it looks nothing like it to me! Thanks again Lady, you're a good 'un.

:)
