Shop at 307 Charles Rd Small Heath 1939

knowlegable brummie
I am told this shop was owned by Frederick Eli Johnson. Can anyone give me any more details, please? What type of shop was it? Does anyone know the family? How long did Frederick have the shop? I know there was a couple registered there, too, the Ellisons. Were they relatives? A memory or a photo would be wonderful, but a long shot I know.

in the 1936 kellys no. 307 charles rd. is frederick e johnson (as you said) and plumber

in 1938 it was the same but checked 1943 and the entry for 307 charles rd now says johnson bros. property repairs

Oh, wow! Thank you so much for that information. That is interesting. Can one purchase the Kellys directories for later years? I'd be interested to know what happened to them.

In 1932 it was william James Mather. frederick Johnson was there 1933-1939. It was johnson bros, property developers in 1940-1943, but by 1944 it was Charles Enoch, In 1944 there was no johnson Bros, property repairs listed at another address
