Hello, I wonder if anyone can offer more information on members of my family.

My great grandfather Albert Shelley (1859 - abt 1925) moved with his wife Annie Jane (1858-1936) and their family to Birmingham from Chipping Norton sometime around 1905. They lived initially at 127 Tame Road, Witton. Children were:

Annie Jane (1877-1879)
Mary (May) Louisa 1879-
William 1880-1963
Rosina 1881 (died after birth)
Matilda 1882-
Henry Charles (Harry) 1883-1925
Eliza 1884-1885
Maud Ellen 1886-
Albert 1890-1970 (my grandfather. Married Beatrice Griffin in 1918, lived at 34 Stour Street, Ladywood, then moved to Kingstanding in the 1920's)
Annie Jane 1892-
Rosina 1893-1894
George 1895-1918 (KIA Western Front)
Alfred 1896-1968 (married a Margaret and had a son Howard)
Blanche (my father insists there was a Blanche but I can find no record)
Violet (ditto, I can find no record)

Other than Albert my grandfather I have no more information on the family, any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello & Welcome John :) Lovely lot of "Family History" you have,,also including your "Griffin,s" prior post,
With such a spread i would hope your responses are fruitful,,

However a tip would be to "Individualise" a little & post under the "Surname Alphabetical" section, spread your net ;)

Find the "Ladies = whom They married" then post under new surname"
Howard Shelley, son of Albert/Margaret could be re-post with more (searched detail) Address?Vote Lists
Your Oscar Richard & Anthony Rudolph Griffin,,search marriages etc,
These would be nice to find & expand upon (Rare names =prominence)
After 1901 as your now down to,,another route can be through Electoral Rolls (Hence my "Vote list above +addresses hint)
Some Elec Rolls are available on Comp at www.midlandshistoricaldata.org
very good for B,ham ElecRolls (You simply Must have a few rellies still here)
Site is good,,pay-per-view but not expensive,, Also other folks on here may "click" on your posts & respond
Good to see you & nice posting m8,, Cheers JohnY:cool:

John, many thanks for the warm welcome and the posting tips, I'll follow up as you suggest.

Lloyd, yes that's right I did post the headshot of George Shelley to Ancestry. We have a number of photos of the Shelley brothers during the 1st World War. George was the only one to lose his life however. My grandfather Albert served in the Royal Artillery on the Western Front from 1915-1918.
