Sanders and Sutherland

Exiled Brummie
I was looking on the 1911 census for my maternal grandmother who was still living in London on the 1901 one. I knew that she'd moved to Aston before going to Bromford. I found the family in Sandy Lane, Aston.

William and Sarah were my Nan's parents (Sarah had re-married so William was her step dad), Florrie was my Nan. William, Henry and Albert were the sons from William Snr and Sarah.

I'm still investigating Lizzie Sutherland shown as daughter and Lizzie and Sarah grandchildren. (I have a good idea who this Lizzie Snr is.)

I wondered if anyone has links to either the Sanders boys or the Sutherlands?

Here's my transcript of the 1911 census which I hope makes my ramblings a little clearer!

I wouls think that your lizzie is Elizabeth Mary A Wilkinson who married Walter Eldred Sutherland in March 1902 Hackney ref 1b 623

Lizzie is with her parents Richard and Sarah at
Halpen place, Walworth in 1891
Richard Wilkinson wrongly transcribed as williamson age 39
Sarah age 35
Fanney? age 13
John age 10
Elizabeth 8
Edward 4
Louisa 1

1881 census
Dwelling: 22 North St
Census Place: Newington, Surrey, England

Richard WILKINSON M 30 M Shoreditch, Middlesex, England
Rel: Lodger (Head)
Occ: Horn Turner Bone Wkr
Sarah WILKINSON M 25 F Bethnal Grn, Middlesex, England
Rel: Wife
Richard WILKINSON 5 M Bethnal Grn, Middlesex, England
Rel: Son
Janey WILKINSON 3 F Bethnal Grn, Middlesex, England
Rel: Daur
John WILKINSON 10 m M Lambeth, Surrey, England
Rel: Son

I think that Fanney /Janey is possibly Jane born 1878.

Thanks Alberta, that's what I think. Sarah Sanders (on the 1901 and 1911 censuses) was previously married to Richard Wilkinson and lived in Halpen Place. I'm investigating this Elizabeth Mary A Wilkinson now. Also, my Uncle remembers an "Aunt Janey".

I don't know if this will be of interest to you...but in my tree I've got Martha Lorton (nee Slater) who married Timothy Sanders 28 July 1857, Birmingham.
On Ancestry there are two families that are researching the Sanders (Saunders) / Slater connection!
Maybe it's your family too?

Thanks Negritaspider, just finished losing another couple of years from my life watching the Blues on Sky. I'll have a look tomorrow to see if I can link your info.
Thanks
David
