rose hill house handsworth

Soho road runs down diagonally left to right in front of Rose Hill House. Villa Road runs off it to the right and St Michael's Road runs off to the left below Lawn House.

looking at the photos we have mike the house seems to have been much closer to the pavement on soho road unless its my eyes

Presumably the name on the map is correct, but , on examination I see what you mean. The house in the photo is next to the road, so it would fit better if it was the building to the right of the marked one
 
Looking at the maps attached it appears that the original Rose Hill House was demolished when (or sometime before) Rose Hill Road was constructed. Could it be that the house shown in red adopted the name Rose Hill House?

i think that is possible john....it may help if we knew when the house with the observatory was demolished and even better if we could find a photo of the 2nd house...this is of course is if what happened
