Looking for any info on Charles James Robinson born 1865 in Oxfordshire who moved to Birmingham? Aston I think The family were Butchers ,I think he had brothers who came aswell William J ohn and John Arthur.

i can find a charles james robinson birth registered jan 1865 woodstock oxfordshire...and i can find one on the 1895/6 electoral rolls living at 13 arthur st aston...would this be him ?...do you know if he married and if so who did he marry

to add to my above post on the 1901 there is a charles robinson with wife living as boarders in ladywood with the thorp family but his year of birth is 1867 however his occupation is a butcher

Have the family (minus Father) on 1881 and there is also a son John A listed. Mother is Matilda and lists herself as "butcher's wife".
Address is unreadable but is Chipping Norton

His birth was registered under his Mother's maiden name as he was born before his parents married.
Charles James Hathaway reg dec qtr 1865.
I think the above census records are correct.
Then we have a puzzle - 1901 it looks as if Charles and his wife Eliabeth are boarders without their 2 children from the 1891 census.
I can find a death for the daughter Ethel but not for the son Charles with any certainty.
Elizabeth dies in 1907 and Charles is listed as a boarder (and widower) on the 1911.
Charles senior seems to be in and out of trouble with the law. He is with his son in 1891 but by 1901 is back wth his wife Matilda in Chipping Norton.

Thanks pjm I know he was born out of wedlock ,many thanks for your help,Charles senior was a butcher/cattle dealer,my father born 1903 remembered driving cattle from Bampton Area to Birmingham when he was 12/13 perhaps that why he is on census??
