Recent Facebook posts have revealed details of a small community of people living in the middle of Robin Hood Golf Course after WW2 .... just over the Hall Green boundary in Olton.
During WW2 an anti-aircraft gun site was constructed near to Langley Hall Farm on the edge of the golf course (as Enrico reported in the "Swanswell Rd/Gospel lane" thread). It appears that after the war the buildings on the gun site were occupied by "squatters", with some support from Solihull Council .... presumably because of the post-war housing shortage.
