Restaurants In Birmingham 1960s

I catch rainbow trout occasionally and grill them two the nights in a row on my gas grill. Having said that, I have not been fishing in a year or two!
slightly off topic but your post reminded me of the couple of years i spent living in the highlands of scotland richard...i fished for salmon and trout...wrapped the trout in foil..seasoned it and wacked it in the pan under our coal fire..totally different taste..also rubbed shoulders in the local shop with birminghams author barbara cartland who spent a lot of time fishing the same river

Salmon on the grill is spectacular! I have only ever caught salmon and pan fried it. We buy salmon and grill it seasoned either on aluminum foil or a soaked cedar plank. My wife wraps salmon in parchment paper (in cold weather) with herbs and veggies and puts it in the oven.
Fresh salmon and trout cooked less than a day old is so different, and has a wonderful taste!

16 pages long now, I'm sure someone must have been to Saleems, in Ladypool Rd, or Jaaneman, also Ladypool Rd.

Proper good curry houses.....Saleem was a Pakistani, I say that, only in passing, and, he was a really nice bloke. Jaaneman had Barfi to die for.

This was the 70s though, sorry just noticed the thread title: unamused:
