I am interested to find any information regarding my recently departed wife Gillian Margaret Toye born 1947 to Margaret Ravenscroft and Reginald Ravenscroft. She was always of the belief that her father may have had a prvious marriage and or her mother. Any information would be helpful to put my late wifes thoughts to rest and help clarify family doubts.

So far I believe Reginald was born 21/4/1907 in worcester(shire).
that date of birth confirms what is on the 1939 eve of war register for reginald so from that it seems we have the correct person who married irene mellirchap in 1927...as said earlier in 1939 his first wife irene was living at at different address to him along with 4 children...so presume they must have split up

that birth date matches with that on the 1939 eve of war register for margaret biddle...living with widowed father charles and brother at coleshill road so it does seem as though her marriage to reginald was her first marriage
i have just noticed that mararets brother william has his name crossed out in red and by the side it says see page 17...i have had a look at page 17 but i cant see anything to link williams name..maybe someone else could take a look

Thank you. So these children are Margaret's sisters I am assuming as Margaret would have only been 11years old when Mavis was born.
Sorry I was confused. They are children of the Ravenscroft/ Mellichap marriage.
yes that is correct...here is the 1939 eve of war register for irene ravenscroft with what i presume are 4 children...3 names are blacked out but valdas is showing and on the left the date she married and became a harris..irene is down as married but as we know reginald was living somewhere else..

Sorry yes - should have made that clearer.
right jan so going on that irene and reginald must have gone seperate ways after the 1939 electoral rolls was taken as they are living at different addresses by the time the 1939 eve of war register was taken which i think was in the sept of that year

not sure if you have read post 17 but i did post the 1939 eve of war register for you for irene reginalds first wife..so to go with that i am now posting the 39 eve of war for reginald living at a different address..he is living in the same house with various other people so i would think the house was split up into flats/rooms...

jan i think i have found the missing child..
dennis R ravenscroft mothers maiden name millichap...birth registered oct quarter 1927 so he must have been their first born...it seems dennis died in 2017 in worcs aged 89

more info...on the 1950 electoral rolls dennis ravenscroft and i presume it is his wife zela are living at 17 egghill lane along with his mother irene M ravenscroft and i have just remembered that reginalds 2nd marriage took place in 1946 but irene is still calling herself ravenscroft in 1950...just wondering now if they did divorce and she just preferred to remain known as ravenscroft
