My grandparents were married at the church on picture 4, I think it's some kind of hostel/ night shelter now.

Maybe, import your photo's into Paint and just save as a jpeg file, brummie...then re-post the jpeg photo. When you save as a jpeg it will ask if you want to overwrite the existing file of the same name. Say yes if you don't want the original format which won't post.

HI NICK
Hope you are both well and that means your father and i hope you can get him more photo,s
sadly i do not have any to offer all i have is memories of raven hurst street and the area;
i used to work in wrenthan street by the picture house just of the bristol rd there and i worked for a small builders merchants down there way back
In 1960; and it was called divis,s they had the housing contracts for the old birmingham council ; when it was known as Bush house
to do most of the housing repairs around the area and all across the area around to belgrave rd st lukes rd in all facts it was every street across from camp hill bradford street you name it it was covered we used to have pushed the old builders hand cart loaded with builders materials
the gaffer or the foreman an irish man used to bring the ladders out on his van to us when we was doing all there roofing jobs for us to asix all the roofs
that had probems we would reroof or patch them up
In ravenhurst street they was the back to back houses and they had brew houses and out side toilets we had to repair those as well ;
at the bottom end of rven hurst street just bfore you hit the corner of the raven hurst street there was a little house that was a coffee shop
whilst working on that street we spent many houses over the week doing almost all the surrounding streets in that coffee shop later on in ime it closed and some one openend up a larger coffee shop on the corner of mosely rd and raven hurst street and a couple of doors from the coffee house in raven hurst rd was a little scrap yard i still can vizulize raven street and the old area beore they knocked it downright across to the belgrave rd varn rd st lukes church
justalong the main rd was sun st west which took you up to the old five ways those strets was full of trees the old spike as it was called the routing house
was just along from rvenhurst street in those days those poor down and out was very rife and they was a sad sight to see the DHSS was not around to later in years on the mosely rd but as you are aware its an hotel which by my judgment it was a posh looking place from out side but of recent i think it loks drabb now out side it is now used for confences and wedding partys i used to give the guys a bob or two to get a cup of tea and a sandwich
my mate used to say you are barmy ; i said some of those guys are ex military and the other half you do not know what was there fate
but any way sorry for waffling on ; i do hope you can get more info; and pictures for your dear old dad and i there say i even met him in passing doing a repair for him at his house whether it had been the out side toilets ; or the brew house or is home roof ;
take care best wishes Astonian;;

No not me ,, your father may have known my mothers parents too john rudge (jack) or his wife Anne,

My grandparents were married at the church on picture 4, I think it's some kind of hostel/ night shelter now.

My parents were married there too , the vicar did a runner and for several months many couples were not sure wether they were married or not as no paperwork had been filed

My grandfather John Rudge climbed the spire and painted the top black during the war stop the bombers using it as a landmark

Camp Hill ervice Station. Bordeslety..jpg
This old painting is said to be Camp Hill Service Station, Bordesley.
Does anyone know where it was/is.
