With the demise of the Fox & Grapes (and many, many pubs before it) should Birmingham have a pub museum ? Pubs that become unused, empty, derelict are vulnerable. So saving artifacts and having a place to record their history could make an interesting and valuable project.

Or is there one already ? I’ve not heard of one. Viv.
 
Some chance ! The Brewery society archives were held at the birmingham library, but the library decided, as it was not largely birmingham material, it should be split up and sent to various places. This was before the present new library was built. The old contents are all over the place now.
