Thanks for posting this. I have a few of these plans for the Black Country and they are very useful. Most were produced for discussion at board meeting during which members could visually check on the competition and viability of any future business. The licensing justices would also have such a plan to help with any recommendation or approval of licence applications.Plans of 1950’s City Centre Pubs.
Really interesting maps. When I ran the Boars Head in Perry Barr there was a cellar there that contained racks of plans of Ansells pubs. They were similar to what you might see in an art shop where paintings are held in a v shaped stand and you could 'leaf' through them, as I remember. I imagine that they would have been transferred elsewhere when the pub closed. Ansells head office was just over the road in Tamebridge House.Plans of 1950’s City Centre Pubs.
