Trying to find his 1911 and 1921 Census records please.

Born 15 June, 1875 Samuel Thomas Birmingham. Died 1 October, 1965. Marriage 19 August, 1917 St James the Less, Ashted to Nellie Morgan.
1891 Census: Thomas (F), Jane (M) Back 3 Belmont Passage, B'ham
1901 Census: as above Court 13 1 Colman St., Aston
Disappears until 1926/27 Rolls 12, Yerbury Grove, Erdington.
Found 1928/31 Rolls, 1939 Census, 1945 Rolls,1955 and 1957/1965 Rolls.

Pension Cards shows his address in 1916 as 259, Burbury St., Lozells.
On Marriage Certificate in 1917 his address is 53, Hows St.

I think I've tried all variations of his christen names.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I think you given the wrong birth year. Should be 1885 instead of 1875?

In 1921 possibly boarder (listed as Thomas) with wife of a Harry Southwick

date on marriage cert matches date of marriage in post 1 but which does not seem to fit by age - if born 1885 then in 1917 he should be 32

1934 -35 eroll is the first time I have found Thomas with Nellie Have now found him with her on 1921 census

By 1938 he is listed as Samuel T Sankey

A Thomas Sankey seems to have spent time between 1903 and 1912 sleeping rough and being fined for it. I wonder if he is the same man who joined up in August, 1914, married in 1917 and settled down?
Appreciate your views please?

Could be. His Mom had died by then I think. Not sure about his Dad. His brothers all seem to be scattered.
I'll have a look tomorrow.

By 1911 his dad also seems to be dead. His youngest brother was in India, his sister appears to have emigrated to Canada, his eldest brother had also died and his remaining brother was married with 2 children.

Reading the Petty Sessions it looks as if samuel Sankey and/or Thomas sankey were in constant trouble from about 1902 to 1912. Fines or prison and then hard labour. I think it quite likely it was our man, who then decided to enlist.
I noticed an Owen Sankey in trouble as well. Think they went off the rails when parents died.

As well as Samuel Thomas Sankey there is a Thomas Samuel Sankey b1887, who is listed as both Thomas and Samuel at times and appears to be a cousin.

He was in the navy by 1911 and I think died in 1917 - HMS Amethyst.
