This pub in Selly Oak disappeared in the 1980's as a result of widening the Bristol Road. I believe it once stood at 747 Bristol Road.

In 1940 it was run by Mrs Clara Charlotte Draper.

Hi Vivienne, hope you are well?

I have recently discovered that my partners Grandparents Ivor Lenton and his wife Margaret Lenton (also known as Peggy or Peg) used to run this pub circa 1965, I was hoping that you might be able to provide pictures of the pub in the 60s when my partners Grandparents were there

Just wondering if someone on the forum may have any external photos or even photos inside the pub that might show Ivor & Peg behind the bar

Unfortunately we have lost both Ivor and Peg, we would really appreciate any help you are able to provide

Thank you in advance

Hi Janice, Happy New Year

Hope you and family are all well?

Thank you for your the information you kindly uploaded in regards to the Prince of Wales pub which my partners Grandparents (Peg & Ivor) once ran.

I don't know why I haven't seen this reply until today as I can see that you responded to my query less than 24hrs after my post, the information you have provided has been very helpful and my partner also wants to say thank you too.

I will keep you updated with any further details we are able to find and post any further questions we may have.

Thanks again to you and all the members of this site that continue to assist me and others with the information they require to continue their journeys discovering details of their family history.

Kind Regards & Season Greetings
