Price or Morris

theodore

master brummie
Frederick Price (alias) b. 1874 abt. (?) served under the name Frederick Price but real name Frank Morris. Was discharged 1916 (sickness). Have 2 address's for him but having trouble finding him. Address 1, 27 Chapel St., High St., Tipton and 2nd 74 Flewitt St., Alfred St. South, Nottingham. Looked for him as Price and Morris but nothing so far. Attachments from Pension Ledger files and a Kellys directory 1956 with a Frank Morris at 74 Norfolk Terrace (Flewitt St.?). Any help would most appreciated.

Peter

Will have a look
Do you have a date for the first address?
Does the pension record contain the name of a next of kin?
Sorry for the questions but I find it frustrating only seeing bits of records when you don't know what is or isn't there.
The more info we have the more we might be able to help Thanks

Hi Janice
No date to go on (1st address) and no next of kin mentioned on Pension records. Only other helpful info year of birth (1874) and the fact he was single.
Thanks for the info you have found so far (if marriage above right then married before, so between 1916 and 1927).

Peter

Fits with wife Sarah on 1939 reg. Address on there matches the address you have in Flewitt Street Nottingham.
Year of birth matches age on marriage cert.

Thanks Janice.

Don't know why I couldn't find him on 39 Reg. put in name Frank Morris and address 74 Flewitt St., Nothing.
If born 1879 then info on Pension record out by 5 years. He enlisted in 1909 so would have been about 30 (maybe he took 5 years of his age then when enlisting?)

27 Chapel Street
1901 census surname Bradley
1911 census jumps from 26, to 28 and then 29 no number 27. I think it must have been unoccupied.
1921 listed and occupant is a Frank Price aged 46 with wife Sarah aged 36

Will post images when I put laptop on

Many thanks Janice.

So used part of both names on 1921 census Frank (real name) Price (alias).

Peter
I don't know for certain but I did wonder. Ages are a bit out I think. Perhaps they aren't married here - hence the Nottingham marriage. We may never know. However it does connect a Price to that address, I also haven't founnd a Frank Price earlier.
If your man joined in 1909 he should be on the 1911 census in the army. Do you have his regiment and army number?

Perhaps we need to look for criminal records?

In 1911 the 2nd battalion Royal Worcs were in India.
On 1921 census "Frank" states he was born in London.
There is a Frederick Price aged 33 (so born abt 1878) listed and states born London. so I am wondering if this is him?
