With the help of Suzanne, I have managed to trace all my grandmother's massive family. The three youngest brothers are the ones I am interested in as they are the ones I have no more info on.

Can anyone tell me if Llewellyn M. Price, William H Price or
Leonard Mansfield Price show on electorial roles or are married or have children so I can trace my Brummie relatives. They were 16,14 and 12 respectively in 1901.

If they had died in WW1 is there a way I could find this out?

Thanks you helpful people Anya Darr

Hello Dar

Any Town Road Streets etc a few more clues if possible:)

Sorry yes..last find was in 1901 census living at 46 Burlington Rd Aston with Lizzie Ethel Price adn her mother Clarissa M Price Widow.

in 1945 on the electoral rolls there is a llewellyn m price living 12 stoney lane, harborne. also living there was ruth h thompson. there are llewellyn prices previously but dont know which is yours as there is not the middle initial there.

there are about three entries for a leonard MANSON price, dont know if thats the same one and unfortunately there are loads of william prices, including a few william henry prices and a william herbert

Are yes this makes sense as Manson was his father's employers name and his brother in-law too. I think my cousins must have written Mansfield by mistake on this old family tree we have. So any entires for him would be good.

Does it say what relationship this Ruth Thompson had to Llewellyn? His second name was definitely M and the area is right. No offspring recorded I guess? Thank you so much.

Hi

Possible marriage for Leonard Manson Price to Florence Sarah Flaxman JFM 1920 Kings Norton ref 6d 48

Electoral Rolls
1930 143 Woodthorpe Rd Moseley & Kings Heath Ward
Leonard (Hanson) Price and Florence Sarah Price
1935 42 Barn Lane, Moseley & Kings Heath Ward
Leonard Manson Price & Florence Sarah
1939 As above
1945 Only Florence Sarah at the address.

Suzanne:)

there is no information as to the relationship of ruth to llewellyn, they may just have been lodging there. no children are listed as this is the electoral rolls and only over 21s were recorded.

1930 leonard manson price and florence sarah price were living 143 woodthorpe road, moseley

1935 leonard manson price and florence sarah price were living at 42 barn lane moseley.

1939 same couple at same address

Thanks for all this. Today I got a copy of a letter from a cousin written by Leonard from the front in WW1 where he was an auxillary nurse in the army. It was very touching and fits in wiht all the info you ahve provided me here. Also found out more about William Harold who was a chaplin in the Navy sadly did not survive war and died in Montreal hospital.

Re:John Mathew Price record of death

Trying to trace the date of death of my great-grand father John Mathew Price born 1840 in shrewsbiry but lived in Birmingham after that...it would be between 1889-1894...want to know cause of death. He was a Commercial Traveller by profession

This looks like your man, the certificate will give you the info you want.

Deaths March Qtr 1889

Price. John Mathew. Birmingham 6d 96. Age at death 48.

Barrie.

Thank you BOTH for this, now I know I am going to sound stupid to all you experts but does the death certificate give cause of death? If so how do I order it? Also I wanted to serach news papers for that year to see if their is an announcement or report as 48 is quite young and as he was a Comemrcial Traveller I wondered if he met with an accident.

Re: 1945 Only Florence Sarah at the address.

Can't find any death records for a Llewllyn M Price or Leonard Manson Price. I have tried free BMD that shows Leonards marriage but no death.

A Leonard H Price died 4q 1944 Birmingham ref 6d 380 aged 55

The 'H' could be a mis-transcription of 'M' as there appears to be no Leonard H born around 1889. If important to you, it would be worth getting the certificate.

I am sure you are right as that would make sense as to why I could not find him. I will do that. Did you have any luck with Llewylln Meredith Price?

Only one possible death record so far..

Llewellyn M Price 3q 1954 age 69 Bournemouth ref 6b 125. Age is spot on but location dodgy! :)

Not necessarily as one of his older sisters ran a small hotel down there. So there is every possibility as he doesn't seem to have married that he went to help her. He doesn't seem to appear in the Birmingham area after 1945 so could be.

In that case, it probably is him as he was the only Llewellyn M Price reg'd between 1880 and 1890.

Thnak you for taking the trouble to track this down. It been a great help to finishing off my family history.
