Preen Family Sparkhill/Aston

angjim

proper brummie kid
Hi I am Angela Preen born and bred in Birmingham now living in Worcestershire. I have co written a couple of books on the Preen Family and belong to the Preen Family History Study Group who hold a meeting once a year to meet other Preens/relatives for a social day. Although I have done extensive research on the family and would be willing to offer help to others I have information/photo I would dearly love to find. My grandfather was Richard Preen married to Clara Williams and they owned a very exclusive sweet/general shop on the corner of Montgomery Street and Kendal Road. I know the receipi that my grandfather used to make his Troach and Toffee apples was quite unique. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers the shop and any Preen and the biggest bonus ever would be to find a picture of the shop. Look forward to someone somewhere who can enlighten me. Angela.

Hi Mariew,

When my mom and dad married they moved to Nechells and thats where I was born, not far away from where you lived again, another coincidence.
